Early Poems: 2007–2008

Seven short poems from the original run of this blog — simple rhyme schemes, direct address, a few lines each. Preserved as they were originally written.

The poems

  • Introduction (August 2007) — the blog's actual opening post, and still a fair one: a short poem about performing sincerity.
  • The Barrel of Lies (September 2007)
  • The fine things in life (September 2007) — four lines, one turn.
  • Love (November 2007)
  • In the Blink of an Eye (December 2007)
  • Shy (December 2007) — closer to a prose fragment than a formal poem, but it was labeled poetry from the start and reads best alongside these.
  • Caution (February 2008)

A note on revision

The words are unchanged from 2007–2008. Where a piece had spacing artifacts left over from the original template (missing spaces after periods), that's been lightly cleaned up — noted individually on the affected pieces.
